So I was in the library with my 8 year-old daughter Emmy Tuesday night. It's become our regular weekly thing, as we get DVD's and they're checked out for a week. She gets Disney, and I get some action flick or other. This week I was skunked by some dweeb who grabbed the last copy of "Live Free or Die Hard" by my boy Bruce Willis, a split second before I could grab it.

N E ways (as my virtual friend Davey says), there was another guy next to me, getting a new library card or something. They asked him to create a PIN for it, and he said "2112". The clerk didn't ask for the meaning of those 4 digits (I mean who cares?), but he had to volunteer that "it's a Rush album".

So all this is running through my mind: "Oh look! Another Rush fan! Should I give him the secret rushfan hand-shake? Ask him to join our internet obsessed-loser-messageboard?".

I never seriously considered it. I just thought "ya right, I'm not part of that crowd anymore".

I didn't say a word.

Fuck that.
